Our Story
Clay + Keycap = Klaykaps. Here’s how a tiny idea became a little studio.

A little studio from Singapore
We were based in Singapore and we loved making cute and yummy keycaps for everyone. Our artisan keycap journey started in 2020 with polymer clay pressed over a blank PBT keycap — which is exactly where our name came from: Clay + Keycap = Klaykaps.
By January 2021 we’d officially moved over to working with resin, letting us capture far more detail — the crumb on a loaf, the wobble of a pudding, the shine on a bowl of ramen.
How it all unfolded
ZJ finds the hobby
ZJ (a.k.a. melon) first fell down the mechanical-keyboard rabbit hole and never quite climbed back out.
Angel joins in
Angel (a.k.a. heimaste) discovered the world of artisan keycaps — and fell in love with it.
Klaykaps is born
We started sculpting designs from polymer clay over blank PBT keycaps. Clay + Keycap = Klaykaps.
Moving to resin
We switched to a sculpt → silicone mould → resin cast process, opening up a whole new level of detail.
NFC ID cards
Every keycap made after 20 June 2021 shipped with an NFC ID card and a unique code, so each one could be authenticated.
Closing the shop
We wrapped up the studio — and built this archive so the little things we made could stick around.
Two hoomans & a lot of resin
Angel
heimaste on Discord. Joined the hobby in 2019 after falling for artisan keycaps — and brought the cuteness.
ZJ
melon on Discord. In the keyboard hobby since 2014, and the one who kept nudging Angel to join.
We would like to say thank you to each and every one of you for showering us with love throughout our artisan keycap journey. Your support and encouragement really motivated us to do our best.
